Behavioral Health Team

The Department of Family Medicine's Behavioral Health Team consists of dedicated clinical social workers who strive to provide excellent behavioral health services to patients and quality education to residents, faculty and staff. We promote and develop the overall well-being of our diverse patient population through mental health assessments and counseling. As Family Medicine social workers, we promote the bio-psycho-social and patient-centered perspective, which puts the patient at the center of care.  As educators, they nurture the understanding of the bio-psycho-social and patient-centered perspectives of healthcare. Our Behavioral Team focuses on the development of communication and interpersonal skills while nurturing our residents. They promote staff welfare by utilizing support groups, facilitating team meetings, teaching residents during concepts period and stimulating cohesive and dependable team relationships.
